APPLICATIONS DATED 01.02.2023 ON BEHALF OF APPLICANT SHRI SUSHIL KUMAR MAROO SEEKING DIRECTIONS FOR ISSUANCE OF A NO-OBJECTION CERTIFICATE FOR RENEWAL OF PASSPORT .
Through present applications, applicant/accused Sh. Sushil Kumar Maroo seeks issuance of No-Objection Certificate (NOC) from this Court so as to enable him to renew his passport bearing no. Z2617797 valid upto 16.06.2023. It is further mentioned in the applications that in connection to business activities, now applicant/accused intends to travel USA and UK in future and for the same, valid passport with more than six months validity is required.
Ld. Counsel for accused submitted that as per Clause (a)(i) of the Notification dated 25.08.1993 issued u/s 22(a) of the Passports Act, 1967, the passport can be renewed for a period of 10 years, if this Court grants permission/no objection for renewal of passport for its full terms of 10 years.
It is, accordingly, prayed that a NOC for the renewal of the passport bearing no. Z-2617797 of the applicant to a maximum period.
Ld. Prosecutors for CBI and ED submit that they do not wish to file any written reply to the aforesaid applications and submitted that same be disposed off considering the present facts and circumstances of the case.
Considering that it is a condition of bail that applicant/accused will travel abroad only with the prior permission of the Court, accordingly this Court has no objection, if the passport of applicant/accused Sh. Sushil Kumar Maroo is renewed by Passport Authority/Regional Passport Officer, for a period of 10 (ten) years. Applicant/accused Sushil Kumar Maroo is directed that as and when his passport is renewed, he will place on record a copy of his renewed passport and will supply a copy to the IO also.
Applications are disposed off accordingly.
Put up on dates already fixed in the matters.
As prayed, copy of this order be given dasti to the applicant/accused.
